The star of the Netflix prison series has died at the age of 29. Authorities have not released the cause of his death.
One of the stars of the Netflix documentary series Footloose: A Prison Experiment died at age 29 just 30 days before he was scheduled to be released. Mail.Online reports this.
John “Eastside” McAllister was found dead in his bed at the Randall Williams Correctional Facility in Arkansas on June 2.
Authorities said McAlister was rushed to Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities have ruled out murder and suicide.
McAlister is serving a sentence on ten drug-related counts, breaking and entering, theft of property and possession of weapons. In 2023, he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to three years in prison.
The deceased inmate had a long criminal history that began at the age of 19. In the series, he said that he spent 14 different terms behind bars.
Idea Free: a prison experiment is that prisoners are given a certain degree of freedom and autonomy in prison. The eight-episode series began airing in April.
In the series, McAllister runs a tattoo shop from inside his prison cell.
It was previously reported that actress Janice Page, who played Minx Lockridge in the film Santa Barbaradied at the age of 101.
