The couple decided to do everything as expected. The photo shows a happy centenarian couple smiling with their family.
A couple from Philadelphia, USA, 102-year-old Margery Fiterman and 100-year-old Bernie Littman got married, surprising relatives and much more. Fox News Digital is reporting this story.
Margery and Bernie met nine years ago, in 2015, in a nursing home. Both lost their first husbands and found new support in each other in their later years.
“We were all happy that he found someone to be with. They were able to find and support each other, especially during the pandemic,” said the groom’s granddaughter Sarah.
In 2024, the couple decided to get married. They were engaged by Rabbi Adam Wolberg, who was moved by their romantic story and second chance at love.
“I don’t know if you imagined you’d find love after Morris (Margery’s first husband) died. But then Bernie came along and you realized someone special came into your life,” he said.
According to Littman’s grandchildren, the wedding was a surprise for the relatives of the “young people.”
“We thought they would just live out their days together, maintaining the status quo,” he admitted.
