Copperfield has been under scrutiny from the press because of his connection to Jeffrey Epstein, an American millionaire convicted of trafficking minors.
Famous illusionist David Copperfield has been accused of harassing 16 women. Moreover, some of them may be minors, writes The Guardian.
We’re talking about the period from the late 1980s to 2014. Three women claim that Copperfield drugged them before having sex with them. Victims say they would not have given consent if they were not under the influence of drugs.
The magician’s lawyers categorically deny the allegations and say that their client has “never treated anyone inappropriately, especially minors.”
“One of the women, Britney Lewis, said publicly in 2018 that Copperfield drugged and sexually assaulted her in 1988, when she was 17 years old, another woman said she had a similar experience in 1993, when he agreed to meet the illusionist after one of his shows,” the media wrote.
Copperfield was also accused of lewd behavior during live performances. Fallon Thornton said the magician squeezed her breasts during a January 2014 performance at the MGM Grand Casino Hotel. Las Vegas police closed the case due to “insufficient evidence.”
Indeed, in October 2023, Copperfield announced a partnership with international charity Save the Children to perform the “disappearance of the moon” stunt, scheduled for February 2024. However, the partnership dissolved early on of January after documents related to Epstein were declassified.
We remind you that earlier the woman who accused Copperfield of rape withdrew her lawsuit in court.
