“Deluxe Afronordestina” is Caetana’s second album and is available on all digital platforms
Pernambuco native Caetana is the first trans singer to record a frevo in Brazil and has just released “Deluxe Afronordestina”, a development of the releases that marked her importance last year, amid the post-pandemic effect. “Deluxe Afronordestina” is Caetana’s second album and is available on all digital platforms.
Recorded live at the Trakitana studio, in the traditional Bexiga neighborhood, in São Paulo, the record – guided by a vibrant fusion of frevo and reggaeton – features production by Passarinho and Eramir Neto. The album offers a unique approach while proposing an even more intense relationship with the original work, keeping its message alive.
The atmosphere, completely dancing, seeks to create an immersion in the festive and colorful atmosphere of the streets. From beginning to end, it brings a malevolence that goes from the bregafunk steps, from Recife, to the funk, from Rio de Janeiro.
“I grew up playing drums, dancing and singing. And that was exactly what motivated me to fight for my dream of being a singer. Recife is a real open-air classroom. We who grew up in communities that have popular culture, like Coque, where I grew up next to Maracatu Nação de Oxalá, have access to more than just a moment of leisure. We have a mix of activities that go from community interaction to the development of skills”, highlights the artist.
A dancer by training and also a percussionist, Caetana has been recognized not only for her music, but also for her contribution to LGBT+ representation in the artistic scene. Her first album stood out for its original production and memorable collaborations, including an unforgettable feat with Deize Tigrona.
“I grew up playing drums, dancing and singing. And that was exactly what motivated me to fight for my dream of being a singer.”
With the release of “Deluxe Afronordestina”, he reaffirms his position as an influential voice in contemporary Brazilian music, inviting the public to connect with his art and speech. Her work goes beyond the stage, seeking to influence, above all, social transformation through education. Challenging paradigms of the northeastern scene, Caetana continues to move his narratives around genres such as coco de roda, forró, samba, funk, rap and hip-hop.
