The release of “Yeshua Hamashia” marks a recent journey into the midst of the Israel-Palestine conflict

With a musical career spanning more than 25 years where she has collected several hits, the 51-year-old openly lesbian Rosania Rocha from Minas Gerais is a singer and senior pastor (alongside her wife Lanna Holder) of the largest LGBT+ church in Brazil; the Cidade de Refuge Community, which has more than 5 thousand members, a sumptuous temple in São Paulo, the capital and more than 20 branch churches spread across the country, not to mention the church in Lisbon, Portugal.
But today I’m not here to tell you about the notorious feats that this couple of inclusive evangelical pastors have been doing for almost two decades in Brazil. No, that’s a topic for another day, today we’re going to talk about Rosania’s solid musical career.
In a brief survey I was able to see that on music platforms such as Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music and Amazon Music there are an average of 10 thousand people who listen to their songs every day. Not to mention YouTube, where his videos have already reached more than 700 thousand views. She is without a doubt the biggest LGBT + gospel musical reference in our Brazil and has dedicated herself with remarkable excellence in quality to her released projects, attracting a significant number of fans of her work.

On a recent trip to Israel (in the early days of the conflict with Palestine), Rosania, alongside her wife, led a group of people to learn and study about the biblical deeds narrated in those regions. It was then that the conflict began; and the result of this adventure of fear and gratitude for nothing happening to them and the group was the birth of the song and also the video “Yeshua Hamashia” (which means Jesus Christ, The Messiah). The official launch will be on May 19th.
“The song was born naturally, it was from my devotional moments, from what I say and talk to God”, adds Rosania.
This is the first live style clip recorded by the artist, and had direct and intense participation from her entire faith community, where a crowd of people participated in the live recording of the clip in São Paulo and convey in the video this explosion of feelings and energy that the song brings, full of authenticity and hope. For Rosania, all of this was only possible due to the support that her church has given her over the years.
“The difference in this new work of mine is the sum of all the phases that I have been building over the years; but especially my maturity, not only artistic, but spiritual as well. “
And it seems that the singer has really found the formula for success in propagating her musical art, she has captivated the hearts not only of the faithful of her church but also of several people in the LGBT+ community, as she always raises the flag of inclusion and against religious homophobia.
His new work is produced by Rick Azevedo and also has a creative partnership with Fabio Fagundes, conductor and musician. For the singer, the sum of these talents alongside her and her audience that believes so much in her work are the tools that encourage and drive her to explore even higher layers of her capacity as a woman, singer and preacher of the gospel.
