The Fortaleza Bilíngue Program is offering 25 places for the “English Starting from Scratch” course
The Fortaleza Bilíngue Program is offering 25 places for the “English Starting from Scratch” course. The intensive workshops have priority for registration for trans people over 15 years of age and residents of Fortaleza, capital of Ceará. Registration is open and can be madeclicking here.
The five workshops will be held from May 17th to 23rd, from 2pm to 4pm, at the Bilingual Embassy headquarters. The course will cover the basics of English for dialogue, from how to start a conversation to presenting daily routine information. There will also be practice in reading and writing in English.
The priority class for trans people is a partnership between the Fortaleza Sexual Diversity Coordination and the Fortaleza Bilíngue Program, with the aim of facilitating access to language learning for this community.
“We are always looking for inclusive and welcoming spaces for the needs of the LGBTQIAPN+ community”, says Andrea Rossati, Fortaleza’s sexual diversity coordinator. “Our goal is to train and provide educational courses that contribute to human and professional development, changing these people’s lives.”
According to Hugo Holanda, coordinator of Fortaleza Bilíngue, the course aims to bring trans people closer to the language training program. “The objective is that, at the end of the course, you have a minimum vocabulary to participate in exchanges and conversations. Priority places are available for the T community, so that they feel an integral part of the space and the Fortaleza Bilíngue program”, highlights Holanda .
