Annually, Batekoo, the largest platform and festival thinking about and proposing entertainment, culture and education by and for the black and LGBT+ community in Brazil, carries out the long-awaited national tour, which features a series of events spread across different regions of Brazil.
Since its creation, there have been more than 30 events that have taken place in various cities. This year, Batekoo has already visited Recife and Brasília, now warming up to the next destinations: between the months of May and July they pass through Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Salvador and Belo Horizonte.
“Batekoo in 2024 seeks to work with its community with more intimate events, however, on a greater frequency. This first tour of events is a step towards this. Celebrating 10 years in 2024, it begins to communicate its new moment, reinforcing its values and its first case, the party. All of them will be a warm-up for our big moment of the year, the Batekoo Festival 2024, 10 years of Batekoo”, highlights Mauricio Sacramento, CEO, founder and creative director.
For the Rio public, the party can now start with the confirmation of the agenda in Rio de Janeiro – which will be on May 17, 2024, with the participation of Duquesa, one of the biggest names in national rap.
The purpose of the tour is more than being recognized as a party. It is a space for affirming and valuing black and LGBT+ culture, in which it works in partnership with local scenes, encouraging the presence of professionals from the periphery in art, culture and music.
“The party is the moment in which we materialize Batekoo as an affirmative space. It is the moment in which we materialize a black cultural hub, which moves and circulates the creative economy in black hands. The party is one of our main tools for impact and transformation social”, says Artur Santoro, cultural agitator and partner at Batekoo.
