“It is with great sadness and a heavy heart, broken into a million pieces, that I write this post to announce the death of my beloved husband and life partner Ian Gelder. Ian was diagnosed with bile duct cancer in December and died at 1: 07 yesterday evening I stopped all work to watch over him, but none of us suspected that everything would happen so quickly,” wrote the man.
The actors have been together for over 30 years.
“He’s my absolute rock. He’s the kindest, most generous, warmest-hearted and most loving person. He’s a terrific actor, and everyone he’s worked with has been touched by his warmth and light. I honestly don’t know if what would I do without him by my side?
Jan Gelder has built a career in film, theater and television spanning 50 years.
He is best known for his role as Kevan Lannister in the fantasy series Game of Thrones.
The actor is also known for his roles in projects Doctor Who, Snatch, A Very English Murder and theater performances The Taming of the Shrew And First page.
It was previously reported that American writer and screenwriter Paul Auster died at his home in Brooklyn on Tuesday night.
