Former children’s film director Yeralash Ilya Belostotsky, who worked in Tyumen, received a state award for his time during the war in Ukraine. Russian media writes about it.
“By order of the president, I was awarded a state award – a medal For the safety of the perishing. According to Russian laws, I have been released from prison and my criminal record has been cleared. I don’t know what exactly is written in the presentation for the award, because I’m a private person, they don’t show us much. If someday they give me leave, I will go to the location of our unit in Russia, there is an award order there, and then I will know. So, friends, rejoice, and enemies, bite your elbows – from now on I am no longer a prisoner, “he said.
According to him, he could be nominated for an award for saving a commander in one of the battles. Belostotsky added that during the first combat mission, more than 300 wounded passed through the first aid post where he works.
In the fall of 2023, Belostotsky, while in prison, signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense: he had 2.5 years left to serve. In war, the director serves as a medic in an assault squad.
In the summer of 2023, Ilya Belostotsky was sentenced to 14 years in prison. The court found him guilty of corrupting a 13-year-old boy in his own apartment in Moscow on the night of November 5-6, 2018. Later on appeal, the sentence was reduced to 6.5 years. The director himself insisted on his innocence. 2.5 years before leaving the colony, Bialystoksky signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense and went to war.
