In the most recent survey by the AtlasIntel institute, in partnership with CNN Brasil, on voting intentions for Belo Horizonte City Hall, state deputy Bruno Engler, pre-candidate for PL, stands out with 31% of voting intentions in one of the scenarios. On the other hand, the federal deputy and PT pre-candidate, Rogério Correia, recorded 16.4%. Federal deputy Duda Salabert (PDT) appears with 10% of voting intentions.
Duda is followed by the president of the Chamber of Belo Horizonte, Gabriel Azevedo (MDB), with 9%, and by senator Carlos Viana (Podemos), with 8.2%. The current mayor, Fuad Noman (PSD), has 5%, while state deputy Mauro Tramonte (Republicans) has 4.7%. Other names include state deputy Bella Gonçalves (PSOL) with 3.8%, state deputy João Leite (PSDB) with 3.7%, the secretary of Planning and Management of Mines, Luísa Barreto (Novo), with 1.6 %, and the former vice-governor of Minas, Paulo Brant (PSB), with 0.2%. A total of 2.9% of those interviewed were unable to answer, while 3.3% indicated blank or invalid votes.
The research, registered with the TSE as MG-04626/2024, interviewed 1,267 residents of the city of Belo Horizonte, through Random Digital Recruitment (Atlas RDR), between April 18th and 23rd. The margin of error is plus or minus three percentage points, with a 95% confidence level.
In a second scenario, excluding Viana, Tramonte and João Leite, Engler increases his lead, reaching 36.9% of voting intentions, with Correia registering 19.2%. Duda appears with 14.6%, followed by Azevedo, with 7%. Fuad has 5.9%, Gonçalves 3.7%, Barreto 3.2%, and Brant 1.5%. Undecided voters total 4.3%, while blank or invalid votes total 3.5%.
Furthermore, the survey simulated a second round scenario between Engler and Correia, with Engler leading with 44.1%, while Correia recorded 38%. The institute emphasizes that due to rounding, the sum of the estimates may not total 100%.
