Ivy Getty has filed for divorce from her husband Tobias Engel after four years of marriage. The reason for the breakup is still unknown.
Billionaire heiress Ivy Love Getty, the great-granddaughter of oil magnate Jean Paul Getty, has filed for divorce from her husband Tobias Engel. The Daily Mail reported this.
It is known that the 29-year-old woman decided to end her marriage after four years of marriage. She filed for divorce in January. The couple entered into a prenuptial agreement to protect their assets.
“Obviously, Ivey, as a member of the Getty family, is wary of the legal imbroglio,” a source told the publication.
It should be recalled that Getty and Engel first met through a relative and then began dating after reuniting at a Paris Fashion Week event.
The couple often vacationed together, during one of which in Italy the man proposed to his beloved at sunset.
In December 2020, the couple had a private wedding, and in November 2021 they held a more public and lavish ceremony.
Guests at the event included Ivy’s family members, including her aunt Vanessa Getty and her cousin, transgender model and activist Nats Getty. Designer Wes Gordon, fashion editor Hamish Bowles, activist Marsha Molinari, model Laura Genson Sims, director Christian Coppola and actress Anya Taylor-Joy also attended the exclusive event.
Ivy is the great-granddaughter of oil magnate Jean-Paul Getty and grandson of Gordon Peter Getty, and was one of Forbes’ 400 richest Americans before her death.
His father, John Gilbert, died of a fentanyl overdose and heart complications in 2020 at the age of 52.
Getty’s great-grandfather owned the Getty Oil Company and was once the richest man in the world. He is also known for refusing to pay a $17 million ransom for his grandson John Paul Getty III after his kidnapping in the 70s. This story was made into a television series Trust 2018.
Earlier it was reported that Nikita Dobrynin named the reason for his divorce from Dasha Kvitkova and admitted how he tried to save their marriage.
