The public’s reaction to the beauty contest winner’s video was negative, so the organizing committee decided to take appropriate action.
Malaysian beauty queen Vera Nika Terinsip has been stripped of her title after her “wild dancing” with a half-naked man in Thailand sparked a public backlash. The Star reported this.
In particular, last year the 24-year-old girl won the regional competition Unduk Ngadau (“Girl Crowned by the Sun”). Since then, his life has become more closely monitored, and an ill-considered post on TikTok caused a strong reaction online. Therefore, the organizing committee decided to take appropriate measures.
The President of the Kadazandusun Community Cultural Association stressed that the holder of the prestigious title “must embody the spirit of Huminodun, the mythological maiden with beauty of heart, mind and soul.”
“It wouldn’t be a problem if she was an ordinary person, but she is an Unduk Ngadau (beauty queen) and a public figure. The reaction was mixed: some saw humor in her video, some sympathized, some were sad and complained “We don’t want to be- target and attract unnecessary attention. We hope that he will accept this decision with understanding. Let this serve as a warning to all Unduk Ngadau not to repeat this mistake,” the comment read.
In the video, Vera, who is on vacation in Thailand, is seen dancing with the boys. He published the video himself, then deleted it and apologized for his negligence in posting such a video.
It was previously reported that Saudi Arabia will compete in the Miss Universe 2024 competition for the first time in history.
Ukrainian Miss Japan 2024 refused the title
