It is impossible not to hear about the Japanese (short) cherry blossom season. A scene that tourists from all over the world dream of seeing at least once in their lives. Japan should have very pronounced seasons with landscapes that are “transient” and “unforgettable”. Sakura-kakushi corresponds to a short period of spring, during which snow in northern Japan is combined with cherry blossoms.
That’s why this limited edition dial has a subtle pink և light silver hue amidst the ‘glittering snow’ of cherry blossoms that begin to melt under the spring sun. This 1,200-piece case uses one of the brand’s original crafts, the Zaracu Shine, which is done by hand to create perfectly smooth surfaces typical of the Grand Seiko style. In fact, it was the 44GS released in 1967, the first watch to incorporate a design code based on the nine principles of this style.
This limited edition mechanical watch dedicated to the 55th anniversary of this Grand Seiko has a slim profile case that replicates the “Grand Seiko style”. It features a self-winding 9S64 caliber assembled by Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi craftsmen with a 72-hour power supply.
