Paul McCartney’s guitar that was stolen from him in 1972 has been returned. It was discovered in the attic of a family home in England.

The Beatles legend’s bass guitar, stolen 50 years ago, has been returned to its owner. Metro reported it.

McCartney, who bought the guitar for £30 in 1961, played it in the band’s early days in Hamburg and more than 250 times at the Caven club.

He played with it until the group disbanded in 1969. Hits such as Love Me Do, Twist and She Loves You were recorded under it.

An appeal to find the 1961 Höfner 500/1 musical instrument played by 81-year-old Paul McCartney was launched last year in the hope of finding it decades later. It was stolen from the boot of a van in London’s Notting Hill in October 1972.

The international project team The Lost Bass began the search. And as it turns out, the instrument was sold to a local pub owner before ending up at the family home in Sussex, where it was stored in the attic for years.

As a result, a local resident who heard about the find recalled that he had a similar guitar. That was McCartney’s guitar, lost more than half a century ago.

Experts say the guitar needs to be repaired before it can be played again, but it is believed to be easy to do.

Because of its importance to him and his music, the guitar is now worth £10 million.

The picture of the famous group The Beatles has already been reported Pictures of a woman sold at auction for $1.7 million.
