The famous American director Michael Mann admitted that he has Ukrainian roots. He spoke about it in an interview with The Village.

When my grandfather left Ukraine and went to the USA, his two sisters moved to Argentina with Hector Babenko’s grandparents. I didn’t know about it until I met him, he told me this story,” he said.
In addition, Michael Mann said that he actively follows the news in Ukraine, which is fighting against the Russian invaders.
“I’m following the struggle that Ukraine is currently waging. Take care of yourself, good luck. By the way, I recently watched Sean Penn’s documentary Superpower, it’s an extraordinary film,” the director shared.
It was previously reported that French Transport Minister Clement Beaune is of Ukrainian origin, his grandmother and great-grandfather being from Odessa.
