Court documents say they benefited from the sale of her son’s property at auction.
The father of late pop singer Amy Winehouse is suing two of her friends for more than £730,000. The Sun reported it.
Specifically, Mitch Winehouse filed a lawsuit against Naomi Perry and Catriona Gourley in London’s High Court. The document says that they benefited from the sale of his daughter at auction.
The statement, first released by a spokesperson for the Winehouse family last month, said Amy’s estate will auction off items from her life and career in 2021, with 30% of the proceeds going to Amy Winehouse Foundation. However, the aforementioned friends, who had sold many lots at that auction, kept the proceeds for themselves.
This year, they auctioned more items related to the late singer, and the two auctions together brought in six-figure sums for each of them. Therefore, the father of the star started a lawsuit to clarify the situation.
It was previously reported that musician Andy Stone has filed a $20 million lawsuit against Mariah Carey in a California court, claiming that her popular holiday song All I Want for Christmas is You infringes her copyright.
