The new ad featured statues without legs, as well as mannequins and structures wrapped in a white bag.
Zara faced backlash after using elements in an advertising campaign that angered Palestinians. This was reported by The National News.
In the photos published by the brand, model Kristen McManamy poses with mannequins wrapped in white cloth and white plastic bags. There are also statues with missing limbs and concrete rubble comparable to the destruction in Gaza.
The campaign, called The Jacket, is part of the Atelier series, which the brand describes as “a limited edition collection that reflects our commitment to craftsmanship and passion for artistic expression.”
Commenting on Zara’s post about the campaign, Melanie Elturk, chief executive of fashion brand Haute Hijab, said: “This is not normal. What are these sick, twisted and sadistic images I’m looking at?”
Palestinian artist Hazem Harb also commented on the campaign and called for a boycott of the brand.
Using death and destruction as a backdrop for fashion isn’t just scary, it’s conspiratorial and should anger us as consumers. Boycott Zara,” he wrote.

Instagram influencers Dr Noor Amra and Dr Hina Cheema, who run the accounts @eyegirlmd and @storyofstyle, shared pictures of the Zara campaign in a shared post.
“We have all seen the horrific images of bodies covered in savannah being released from Gaza… This is clearly a deliberate mockery of the Palestinians. They know exactly what they are doing,” they wrote in Instagram.
