The presenter commented on the importance of models beyond the standards in the world of fashion
Letticia Munniz participated in São Paulo Fashion Week for another year and, as exhausting as the air shuttle between the capital of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro is, the presenter insists on attending the event.
The model did a marathon to model for four different brands and, at the end, left a message: “Many others need to come, because Letticia is tired. I don’t have time anymore. I’m in Rio and recording a lot.”
“I don’t think I should be opening paths, these paths should have been open long before, I’m new and I don’t think it’s right that this is starting now”, vented.
“There has to be the same number of diverse bodies as thin bodies, not only in SPFW, but in campaigns. We are experiencing a setback”, continued.
Letticia spoke about the distortion of plus size bodies compared to thin bodies: “I know plus size models – and it’s nothing personal with them – who are beautiful, wonderful, my friends, but they are not fat. They are just not as thin as the thin models, but they are being used as ‘fat models’ “.
“They are girls who are size 44, and they cannot be the ‘fat models in the campaign’, because they are not fat. They cannot be ‘the fat models on the catwalk’, they are just not as thin as the others”, scored.
Amid the absence of allies, the presenter spoke about how her availability to parade makes the public see this visibility: “After I leave, when all the repercussions come, I see that, regardless of how I walked and the face I made, how important and necessary it was to be there.”
“This changes a lot of things, a lot of people who dream of having surgery to change their body, starve themselves to change their body, it’s sad every day because they’re trying to change who they are every day. They feel like they’re walking along with me on the catwalk” , explained.
