Pope Francis spoke about the Catholic Church’s relationship with people from the LGBTQIA+ community. Once again, the religious leader stood in favor of including all people in belief and faith.
This time, he stated that trans women are children of God and should not be treated differently at the institution.
“I don’t worry that people will criticize me for having transsexuals in the general audience on Wednesdays. […] The first time they came and saw me, they left crying, saying that I had given them a hand, a kiss… As if I had done something exceptional. But they are children of God! He still loves you the way you are. Jesus teaches us not to set limits”, said in an interview with the Spanish magazine Vida Nueva.
The Pope also criticized the positions of Moscow and Kiev for resisting a negotiation to end the war. In addition, he commented that the Church seeks to do its part and asked citizens not to settle down.
“It’s a bourgeois temptation that can especially attack the most conscientious Christians. Stagnant water is the first to rot. The same goes for a stagnant Christian. You can’t live like that”he said
