On this Friday, the 23rd, Anita released the clip for his newest work called “Funk Rave” with representations of carioca funk and with scenes taken in Favela Tijuquinha, west of Rio de Janeiro.
This is the singer’s first release for her new label, Republic Records, during the press conference, Anitta spoke about her intention with the new project and the upcoming news.
“In this clip I don’t want to show an image of Brazil, but my experiences, the culture that I identify with. Many people will not feel represented in this clip, but Brazil is very big, it is not possible to represent the country only with my story, I can’t demonstrate the whole country in an album”, he spoke.
“In this album I want to show my roots, my reality, I was born and raised in the suburbs, in the communities, so my intention is to show my adolescence and the beginning of my career”, completed.
The Funk Rave clip was the subject of controversy after the leak of a scene where Anitta simulates oral sex in one of the alleys of the community, the scene, taken out of context, went viral on the web at the time.
About this, Anitta commented that the intention was to be something playful: “The idea was always to be something playful, with connotations, in the clip there is the train, the fruits, me with a bag, the intention was always to make connotations”.
The singer also commented on her relationship with the critics and when was the moment when she started not to care about the mean comments: “I remember that I was all plastic to receive an award from Domingão with Faustão for my work and I didn’t want to miss the opportunity because it was the first time in a long time that funk had won an award”
“After the program I was detonated by all the channels, everyone was detonating me because of a plastic surgery, something that everyone does, did and always did”, said.
“And then my mother advised me and said ‘People are crazy, people love hypocritical people and will always speak ill of something, you don’t have to care about that’, and then I said ‘Oh, you know what? ‘, and then I stopped caring about the other’s opinion and went to live my life and since then I’ve been very happy”, finished.
