But there are happy occasions, and this is it: the new, but time-tested Suzuki S-Cross.

Note that this model has passed the test of time mainly under a different name – SX4. He never had much to complain about. In fact, there are only two complaints: his, so to speak, face and interface, because both are not very modern.
But everything is in the past. Finally, the crossover looks solid and even shows some stylish design trends, such as interconnected taillights and narrow headlights. Although it seems larger than the SX4 and more solid, although in fact the dimensions have not changed much.

Under the hood of this car is the most powerful engine in the entire line of automotive engines developed by Suzuki in-house. It has an aluminum block, direct injection, timing chain and variable intake timing. And it’s actually the most powerful version of the 1.4-liter engine, the K14C BoosterJet. He has 140 horses, while the next K14D is already derated to 129, because it works as part of a mild hybrid, like in the Suzuki Vitara.
This 140-horsepower engine attracts attention not only for its reliability, power and ability to disperse the S-Cross to hundreds in 10.2 seconds. It is still very convenient to use, because we now have a maximum of 220 newtonometers from one thousand five hundred revolutions to four thousand. That’s almost always! The engine does not need to be twisted strongly, and therefore fuel consumption is moderate: 7-8 liters in the city, 5-6 – outside the city.
And Suzuki has a very reasonable approach to trim levels. The S-Cross has only two of them, so there is no confusion: GL and GLX. But in each you can choose the type of drive, front or full, and for the younger GL also the type of transmission: 6-speed manual or automatic with the same number of gears. The top GLX is only in the engine, and it is quite understandable. He is the richest and most interesting. There are already light and rain sensors, all-round camera, wireless smartphone connection (Apple Car Play and Android Auto by wire are also in GL equipment).
But the main breakthrough is the top 9-inch display instead of the 7-inch one in the GL package. By the way, not only the diagonal is different, even the manufacturer is different: the bigger one is from Pioneer, the smaller one is from Clarion.

The top version adds an armrest with cupholders to the rear seat. A small thing, but convenient. But legroom is included in the basic package and will suit everyone of average height or slightly above average. And even if you have a little more luggage than usual, it will not be a problem, because the crossover will offer a trunk of 440 liters.
And here, finally, a color display of the on-board computer with an interesting animation of driving modes. By the way, the “Sport” mode of this car is not bad – it only emphasizes the perfect harmony of the engine and the engine. As pressed, and go!
The Suzuki S-Cross is probably the most affordable crossover on the market. It can be purchased at Suzuki’s official dealer network at a price of UAH 829,900 to UAH 1,099,900.
In addition, you decide whether to pay for an automatic or four-wheel drive. Yes, and the surcharge for them is quite democratic, somewhere around 50-60 thousand Hryvnia, depending on the configuration.
So let’s go back. We have a spacious, quite comfortable crossover with excellent dynamics and moderate fuel consumption, and even with the ability to cheaply get enough all-wheel drive if you need it. This car looks modern, and at the same time it is reliable, because there are no significant changes in the design. The price is one of the lowest in the market, the shortcomings are small and insignificant. Therefore the Suzuki S-Cross is well worth your attention.
