Oscar-winning actor, director and producer Sean Penn will star in the Ukrainian film almanac War through the Eyes of Animals, to be directed by Miroslav Slaboshpitsky. This was reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
It is known that the celebrity will star in the ninth part, in which he will play an American sound engineer who accidentally witnesses the outbreak of war when Russian troops invade Ukraine on February 24, 2022. Filming is scheduled to take place in Ukraine and Los Angeles in the summer of 2023.
“I am very happy to be a part of this film. I am honored to work with an incredible actor, an outstanding person and one of the biggest friends of Ukraine, Sean Penn. He was with us in the attack on February 24 and explored the war in Ukraine in his documentary. His support is invaluable to us,” the director said.
Earlier it was reported that Sean Penn spoke about the first meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
