King Charles III and his wife Camilla visited British Liverpool and the concert hall where Eurovision 2023 will be held on behalf of Ukraine.
Ukrainian singer Yulia Sanina, who became one of the hosts of Eurovision 2023, spoke about what she discussed with King Charles III of Great Britain and Queen Consort Camilla.
In particular, the actress had the opportunity to meet the royal couple during the opening episode of the show. He admits that he is still shy about talking to them.
“Very nice people. I was surprised that before that there was no gathering – how to behave correctly, there are different protocols. I asked if I can talk to him, what can I tell him, how can I make this curtsy. I was told: ” Relax and be yourself. If you want to say something, say it. “We were even surprised that they stayed with us for a long time and we can talk – easily,” said the singer in Snidanka z 1 + 1.
Regarding the conversation, Yulia Sanina thanked Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla for supporting Ukraine in the war unleashed by Russia. The king asked how the performer felt in Britain.
“First, he asked how I feel and what the atmosphere is like. I said that we are very grateful and we feel that this is the Ukrainian Eurovision, despite the fact that it is taking place in Liverpool. There are many Ukraine in this Eurovision, so they put Ukraine first. I told him a big thank you for the big support we get from Britain and his family. We even talked about opening a library here in Liverpool – Ukrainian. For me, it is a historic moment. I never thought I would stand up like this and talk to the king,” he shared.
It was previously reported that Yulia Sanina told how she became one of the hosts of the Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held in Liverpool this year.
