X-Men star Michael Lerner has died

American actor Michael Lerner, who starred in movies like Elf, Godzilla and X-Men, died at the age of 81. NBC News reported it.

Lerner’s death was confirmed by his nephew, The Goldbergs actor Sam Lerner, who paid tribute to his uncle in an Instagram post.

“Last night we lost a legend. It’s hard to say how brilliant my Uncle Michael was and how he influenced me. His stories always inspired me and I loved acting. He was the coolest, most -confident. I’m lucky to have been with him and we’re all lucky to continue to watch his other work. Rest in peace Michael, enjoy unlimited Cuban cigars, comfy seating and a never ending movie marathon,” she wrote.

It is noteworthy that Michael Charles Lerner was born on June 22, 1941 in Brooklyn, New York, in a family of Romanian-Jewish origin.

The celebrity first appeared on television at the age of 13 as a quiz kid on a TV program hosted by a local sportscaster.

After graduating from Brooklyn College, where she studied acting, she received a scholarship to the University of California, Berkeley, where she received a master’s degree in English drama.

In 1968, he appeared in the short experimental film It Smile. In 1970, Lerner made his film debut in Alex in Wonderland.

After steady work as an actor in the 1970s and 80s, Lerner achieved greater recognition after receiving an Oscar nomination in 1992 for his role in the Coen brothers’ historical thriller Barton Fink.

In addition to his acting career, Lerner is a rare book collector and an avid fan of Cuban cigars.

It was previously reported that Swedish musician and guitarist of the cult band ABBA Lasse Wellander has died. The star is 70 years old.
