The priority still remains to provide energy to household consumers in Ukraine, the head of the Ministry of Energy stressed.
Ukraine expects electricity exports to be higher today than last year. This was announced on the air by a single telethon of the Minister of Energy Herman Galushchenko.
“Now we hope to reach last year’s export volumes. We are planning and negotiating to increase them, because now the reserve in the system allows us to do it,” he said.
At the same time, the minister emphasized that the priority is to meet the domestic needs for electricity, so if the situation changes, the export can be stopped.
Revenues from electricity exports will attract additional financial resources to restore energy facilities destroyed or damaged as a result of Russian attacks. However, these funds will not be enough.
“Unfortunately, we do not see an opportunity to fully cover the corresponding financial needs through export to restore the energy system in the next heating season,” said the minister.
According to Galushchenko, there are a number of other solutions being discussed now.
Now it is also planned to increase crossings between Ukraine and Poland, which will increase the volume of exports.
Recall that earlier Ukrenergo predicted that there would be no shortage in the energy system in the next six months. For more than a month, the generation runs with a power reserve.
The previous day, Ukraine resumed electricity exports to European countries.
