Here’s what to expect from DC Comics’ first film with a Latin American protagonist
This Monday (03), Warner Bros. released the first trailer for the film ‘Besouro Azul’, which marks the debut of actress Bruna Marquezine in international cinema. The feature is part of the universe of DC Comics (DC) and will be played by Xolo Maridueña, who also starred in the series ‘Cobra Kai’. In the role of Jaime Reyes, the actor will make a romantic couple with the Brazilian artist and bring to life one of the oldest heroes of the franchise.
According to James Gunn, co-president of DC Studios, the production also symbolizes the resumption of the heroes’ journey at DC. “Shazam has always been in his own piece of the DCU, so he ties directly into The Flash, a fantastic movie, which I love, and which resets the entire DC universe. […]. Then we move on to Blue Hornet, a fantastic movie about a boy who is a wonderful part of the DCU, and then on to Aquaman 2, which ties directly into our new projects,” he said in a video posted on Twitter.
What does the trailer reveal?
While looking for a job, Jaime meets Jenny (Bruna Marquezine) and receives a mysterious hamburger box from her, which she asks him to protect with his own life. Not knowing the contents of the box, at home, he decides to open it and discovers a kind of magic that disguises itself as technology, which chooses him to be the Blue Beetle. So, give him an armor with superpowers, but unpredictable and somewhat dangerous.
At the videoit is also possible to see a classic villain from the comics, a new villain emerging and Jaime, unlike other heroes, trying to discover on his own how the armor works.

In addition to Bruna Marquezine and Xolo Maridueña, the production also features actors renowned and already known by the public, such as:

Actors’ reaction
In an emotional reaction, Bruna Marquezine became a highlight on Twitter with the reveal of the trailer. In a post on the social network, the actress wrote “do you recognize this voice?”, in reference to the dubbing she performed for the feature. The artist also received praise from Brazilian colleagues, such as Xuxa Meneghel. “I am very proud of my little one, who has grown and will grow MUCH more!”, wrote the presenter.
In an Instagram post, Xolo Maridueña also commented on the announcement: “The time has finally come to introduce Jaime Reyes to the world and I couldn’t be happier. I hope you fall in love with this one film like me. Cheers. ‘BLUE BEETLE’ summer baby,” wrote the actor.
