The vocalist of the German rock band called on the world to support Ukraine. In his opinion, everything that happens next can be worse than now.
The vocalist of the legendary German rock band Scorpions, Klaus Meine, said he wanted to go to a “peace concert” in Kyiv after the victory in the war unleashed by Russia. He said this in an interview with the Berliner Kurier.
At the same time, the frontman of the band said that he will not perform on the territory of the Russian Federation.
“Hopefully, when the war is over, we will have a peaceful concert on the Maidan in Kiev. I don’t think we will perform in Russia again. Not in the foreseeable future. It’s sad. But you have to draw your own conclusions from reality” he says..
He also recalled that they changed the text of the famous song Winds of Change, replacing the phrase “I follow Moskva down to Gorky Park” with “Now listen to my heart, says Ukraine”.
“After the start of this illogical war, we asked ourselves if we can still play this song. Now he shows our solidarity with Ukraine, and does not romanticize Russia, as before,” added Klaus Meine.
It was previously reported that Klaus Meine spoke about how the idea was born to change the words of the cult song Wind of Change.
