The international competition in Egypt was won by 19-year-old Nguyen Thanh Ha from Vietnam. Last year’s winner was Filipino contestant Kathleen Paton.
Ukrainian Anastasia Panova, who represented our country at the Miss Eco International beauty contest in Egypt, said that the contest organizers forbade her to speak about the war. He said this in an interview with Channel 24.
Also, according to the model, other participants are forbidden to take pictures with her and with the flag of Ukraine.
“All the participants knew what was happening to me, everyone sympathized. But on the second day, the director of Miss Eco International openly told everyone:” No one has the right to take a photo with Anastasia from Ukraine and with his flag. “This. is the third week of the war in Ukraine, my parents, my whole family was there, I was on my nerves, and he said this to the 40 participants. At first I cried, then I gathered my will and said to myself: “So, you did not come for the crown. You came to announce that we have a war. If you have a voice, we will use it, despite what the organizers tell us.”I didn’t care,” she said.
However, Anastasia Panova admitted that she broke the rules and sang a song about Ukraine at the talent contest and took the flag during the performance. Then he thought the guards would let him out.
“I woke up that morning and said to myself: “Anastasia, remember, you sang in the church choir for nine years? The moment has come when you have to pick up your flag, get on stage and sing some Ukrainian songs. You can do it. “I did. I sang weakly, but I just tried not to cry. I remember how the director looked at me. He didn’t understand what the song was about, but he thought it was some kind of rebel, so the rally began. Surprisingly, I finished singing, and no one spoke to me,” added Anastasia.
It was previously reported that Ukrainian model and Miss Ukraine Universe 2022 Victoria Apanasenko said that she is not allowed to mention the war on the show.
