Ukrainian singer Jamala received the award from the US Atlantic Council. The artist announced this on Instagram.
Jamala was recognized as the winner of the nomination award Outstanding Lead Artist. He was named one of the most influential Ukrainian artists. The organizers also noted Jamala’s contribution to Ukrainian culture and assistance to Ukraine during the war with Russia.
“I accepted the award on behalf of all Ukrainian artists who use their voices to speak about the crimes committed by Russia in Ukraine. Every day they bring the truth and increase support for our country, protect our culture and showed its uniqueness. This is our common struggle and common small successes “, said Jamal.
In addition to the singer, the award was also awarded to the people of Ukraine for “outstanding courage and fearlessness during the Russian invasion of the country.”
