Criolo, who is the digital cover of Rolling Stone Brasil, spoke about his new project
Creole he had to get back on his feet and find, in a painful moment, an enormous strength to reinvent himself. Quick with words, verses and rhymes, the singer was faced with a moment in which he could not act.
In his new work, Sobre Viver (2022), the artist, who is the digital cover of Rolling Stone Brazilbrings a new version of its history and brings themes that are important to be talked about.

“Many houses of prayer are being destroyed and nobody talks about it. Or, when it is talked about, the space is small, there is very little talk. This religious intolerance can be translated into other phrases: persecution, murder, death. So it is urgent Yes.”said.
Criolo commented on the themes he brings in his compositions: “The social part that was already fragile, struggling a lot, was totally forgotten, and this further strengthened this cruelty that flows into the streets, in hunger, fear, depression, you know? It’s a country of hunger, where people are increasingly feeling insecure, sad. So, once again, rap presents itself as a portal to this urgent, necessary exchange. It’s always time to talk about improvement. But you can’t talk about improvement and not talk about everything that’s happening.” .
The artist confessed that he was a while without composing his songs: “I went about three years without composing, before the pandemic, I was kind of like this, I was even a little discredited”.

“It was in the time it had to be, but I didn’t own that time. I slowly went back, without realizing it. It happened like this”said.
During this process, Criolo rediscovered some important names and met others who have already marked his history as Tropikillaz, MC Hariel, liner, Jacques Morelenbaun and Milton Nascimento.
“You can’t help but get emotional, you know? Because such a tough text and Milton has already sung so many things on the planet… When I presented the song to him, he already replied ‘I liked it, I want to record it’. I don’t know how to describe it. size of my emotion and how gigantic this song was in his voice”he said.
And it was in these meetings that Criolo found peace: “I felt a lot of hate, a lot of pain, a lot of despair, you know? Not that this has changed, or that it has calmed down. Art offers hugs, encouragement, warmth, reflection, path…”.
“In the midst of this process, everyone saw that we are surviving all this. We have the will to live. We do not give up on living”finished.
