Ravila Nogueira is a model who has been conquering the world with her work. She has already illustrated editorials for important international magazines, starred in major campaigns and walked for fashion brands. However, the young woman said that before her career took off, she already had serious problems with her self-esteem, she tried crazy diets to gain weight and revealed that she suffered a lot of bullying.
“Today, fortunately, I deal very well with my self-esteem. Thanks to a lot of therapy and also trying to get to know myself better. But I remember that in my adolescence I felt very thin, I started working out at 25, because I had dreamed of increasing my weight”, vented.
She said that she went on a diet – without medical advice – to try to gain body mass and improve her relationship with her body.
“I had this fascination with increasing my weight. I was always looking for alternatives for this to happen, I joined the gym, I started to incorporate these crazy diets that promise quick mass gain. But obviously it didn’t work out, not least because there was no medical follow-up”, explained.
The model said that this problematic relationship with her body was related to the bullying she suffered and revealed that she even wore more than three jeans to appear to have more weight.
“Some classmates always made jokes that made me feel insecure so I started wearing 3 more pants under my jeans to look a little fuller”, he said.
She said that after starting to model and moving to São Paulo, her relationship with self-esteem improved a lot. Rávila said that it was at the beginning of her career that she recognized her body biotype 3 and began to accept herself.
