In Ukraine, on May 5, the famous science fiction writer Sergey Dyachenko died. This was announced on Facebook by his wife, writer Marina Dyachenko.
The writer was born on April 14, 1945 in Kyiv, he is a doctor by profession. However, in the late 1970s, he discovered the talent of a screenwriter, and from 1994 he began writing fantasy novels and short stories.
From 2004 to 2009 the family lived in Moscow. He then moved to Los Angeles.
Among Dyachenko’s most famous works: the Witch’s Century trilogy (1997-2020), the Cherry cycle, the Vita Nostra dilogy (2007, 2021), the screenplay for the film Inhabited Island (2008).
Recall that earlier in Riga, writer and screenwriter Vyacheslav Soldatenko, known as Slava Se, died of the coronavirus.
