Astrology is guided by the movements of nature, the 4 elements and the primordial characteristics that we have as human beings connected with the aspects of the Earth. This is because astrology emerged when human beings began to look at the sky, observe the movement of the stars and correlate what happened in the sky with what happened here on Earth.
Perceptions of seasons also emerged in this human movement of observing nature: 4 moments of well-marked climate changes. And, in the study of human behavior, it could be noticed that the seasons and their characteristics were also related to the people’s behavior born at a certain time of the year.
3 movements of astrology
This is how the seasons are correlated with the signs: the seasons of the northern hemisphere are taken into account, as that is where astrology emerged. We follow the same pattern in the Southern Hemisphere. There are three movements in astrology: Cardinal (or Cardinal), Fixed and Mutable.
The Cardinal movement indicates the beginning, an action that begins, that opens paths, that emerges and brings to light. The Fixed movement is the one that stabilizes, that anchors, stores energy and concretizes. Mutable movement represents transitions, flexibility, adaptation and fluidity.
Spring begins in Aries
Spring starts in Aries, which represents the impulse of life, primordial fire and courage. Afterwards, it stabilizes in Taurus, which represents fertility and security, soft and comfortable land. To end the season, it travels in Gêmeos, which exchanges information, makes it flexible and learns.

Summer begins in Cancer
Summer begins in Cancer, which is marked by welcome, warmth of emotions and heart and for the warmth. Afterwards, it stabilizes in Leo – the apex of personal brilliance -, of the Sun that illuminates and warms and the joy of living. Finally, summer transits Virgo, which perfects, fixes and categorizes what needs to stay and what needs to go.

Autumn starts in Libra
autumn starts in Lb, which represents harmony and days and nights of equal length. It’s the scales of life seeking balance. Soon after, it settles in Scorpio, which is marked by detachment, which needs to let go, which dies so that it can be reborn later. In the end, autumn transits in Sagittarius, which represents the arrow that points upwards, the connection with the wisdom that dwells in each being and that connects with the inner Sun.

Winter begins in Capricorn
Winter starts in Capricorn, which represents the seriousness, the scarcity, the concern with the lack and the awareness of the reality of going in search of what is needed. Afterwards, it stabilizes in Aquarius – the superior mind -, the one who sees beyond what is seen, which represents the awareness that in groups we can accomplish more. Finally, winter transits in Pisces, which is totality, where everything flows, the awareness that we are all one and that we are on the same journey, the connection with the Divinity and the end of the astrological year.
power connection
In each of the seasons, we can perceive this energy working within us. Just like every time you the sun is in a certain sign, we can connect with the energy and archetype of each one of them and with the messages they bring us, so that we can follow a more conscious and balanced path in life.
