The Ministry of Culture added that the republic opposes war and strives for peace and unity.
Chechnya’s Ministry of Culture refused to strip Valery Meladze of the People’s Artist title after he said “Glory to the Heroes.” Such a comment was given in the Russian edition of Rise.
In particular, the statement says that the artist does not violate the “integrity of Russia” in his answer, so the question of removing him from the title “is not worth it yet.”
“The Chechen Republic stands for the integrity of Russia, against international terrorism, for stability, for the policy of the country’s leadership, and until such moments they hold. The Chechen Republic is actively involved in the restoration of constitutional order on the territory of Ukraine,” the statement said.
It is noteworthy that the title of People’s Artist of Chechnya was awarded to Valery Meladze in 2008.
Earlier it was reported that Senator Elena Afanasyeva proposed to strip singer Valery Meladze of Russian citizenship.
