The conflict between the princes took place in 2019 at Nottingham Cottage, where Harry and Meghan lived at the time.

Prince Harry, in his autobiographical book Spare, spoke about a skirmish with his brother William, who attacked him with fists, during a conversation about Meghan Markle. This was reported by The Guardian.

Describing this incident, the Duke of Sussex said that the older brother, during one of his visits in 2019, decided to discuss strained relationships and scandals in the royal family with the press. After this, the Prince of Wales called Meghan rude, cruel and problematic.

In response to the insults, the younger brother accused William of a lack of support, after which the latter attacked him.

“He put down a glass of water, called me by another name, and then attacked me. He grabbed my collar, cut the chain around my neck and pushed me to the floor. I fell into the dog bowl, which broke on the bottom of my back, and pieces of plastic fell on the body, I lay there, stunned, then stood up and told him to get out,” he said.

It was noted that they tried in every possible way to hide the incident from Meghan Markle, however, she still saw scratches and bruises on her husband’s back. Prince Harry had to talk about the attack, after which the relationship between his wife and older brother completely deteriorated.

It was previously reported that Prince Harry said he did not see himself returning to performing royal duties.
