Trump Regrets Not Marching Towards Capitol In January. 6, Pelosi Blamed For Violence –

Former President Donald Trump has said he plans to hold a demonstration in front of the Capitol on January 6, 2021, along with his supporters.

“The secret services said I couldn’t go,” Trump told the Washington Post in an interview with the Mar-a-Lago Club. “I’ll be there in a minute.”

He also accused House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and DC Mayor Muriel Bowser, both Democrats, of not doing enough to stop the violence that followed.

“I thought it was a shame and kept asking him why he wasn’t doing things.” said Trump. “Why is Nancy Pelosi doing nothing to us? And also the mayor of DC. Led by DC mayor and Nancy Pelosi.

“I hate to see him. “And I said,‘ We have to take care of this, ’and I thought they did it,” he added.

Trump rebuked his supporters for his lies at election rallies on Jan. 6 and then said he would join them on Pennsylvania Avenue all the way to the Capitol. Instead he went back to the White House and watched the chaos on TV. For hours he ignored repeated requests from aides and senior lawmakers to issue a statement that could stop the violence.

Authorities continue to prosecute those who attacked the Capitol, including a former Virginia police officer who began trial this week. Trump himself was convicted of insurrection, but he was not charged or the others who may have spearheaded the plan.

In the interview, Trump also defended Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas ’wife, Ginny, who sent nearly two dozen messages to then White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows urging her to cancel the 2020 election, according to copies reviewed by the Washington Post and CBS. news. Democrats are calling on the Supreme Court justice to avoid any case involving insurgency.

“First of all, his wife is a great judge,” Trump said. “And she is a good woman. And love our country. “

The former president said he did not remember many phone calls in the seven hours that the White House phone record did not get on Jan. 6. But he insisted he did not break the records and did not use any other telephones.

“Why am I wondering who called me?” churches. “If members of Congress call me, what is the difference? There is no secret. This is not a secret. “

A chamber committee investigating the Capitol uprising focused on the space.

“The flaws seem suspiciously fitting to the heart of the matter,” Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.).

In recent days, the commission on Jan. 6 interviewed Jared Kouchner and Ivanka Trump and received 101 emails sent from Jan. 4, 2021 to Jan. 7, 2021 from John Eastman, Trump’s former attorney.

The judge supported the committee in relaying the emails, dismissing Eastman’s attorney-client privilege argument.

“Based on the evidence, the court is more likely to become president [Donald] “Trump tried corruptly to prevent a joint session of Congress on January 6, 2021,” U.S. District Judge David Carter wrote last month.

On Wednesday, congressmen backed former Trump trade adviser Peter Navarro and social media leader Dan Scavino in possible prosecution at the Justice Department for disobeying a Congressional criminal insult request.
