Dassault* Group Communications and Sponsorship Director Marie-Hélène Haber annually presents the Marcel Dassault Prize for research and innovation in psychiatry to a French researcher on behalf of the group and the FondaMental Foundation. The daughter of Serge and Nicole Dassault herself, she explains to us why her family chose to get involved in a field that is usually overlooked.
LE FIGARO. – Why did you decide to dedicate the prize to mental health research, rather than other health topics that are often considered more promising?
Marie-Hélène HUBERT. – One of our family members, now deceased, had Asperger’s Autism. It made us realize that there is much more to be done in the management of psychiatric illness and the welfare of patients. However, very few companies intervene in this topic, which, however, concerns a very large number of patients; one fifth of the population suffers from mental illness…
