Opposition lawmaker Marjorie Taylor Green easily defeated five fellow Republicans on Tuesday. Primary race This proves that his conservative Georgian voters have remained firmly on his side after a turbulent first year.
On the same day, a far-right lawmaker removed the need to restrict access to guns following a school shooting in Texas that killed at least 19 children.
Green called the attack a mental health problem and tweeted: “We don’t need more gun control. We need to go back to God.”
Our country today must take mental health seriously.
Medications can sometimes be a problem.
America is destroying our younger generations by depriving them of good moral values and teachings for decades.
We don’t need more gun control.
We need to return to God.

In his victory speech at the end of Tuesday, Greene showed no signs of calm. As in the past, he called for the impeachment of President Joe Biden and rejected his election as a product of “rigged elections”. He compared the pandemic mask and vaccine warrants to “medical tyranny” and lamented “the brutal and illegal treatment of nonviolent protesters on Jan. 6”.
Green called Republican Senate leader Mitch McConnell one of the “failed leaders” in Congress and said with loud applause that he was “part of the majority that still wants to see Hillary Clinton in jail.”
“My message to Washington is to send a message to the bloodthirsty establishment: We’ll set the agenda for the next decade, they won’t,” Green said. He added: “We will start speaking the truth louder and louder than ever.”
Green, 47, will return to the polls in November before the Democratic Party’s tripartite primary winner in Georgia’s 14th northwestern constituency, which Republicans won in a landslide victory.
Elections two years ago, Green became the most famous face of the far -right Republican Party when he embraced the former president. Donald Trump False claims that the 2020 election was stolen and involved in conspiracy theories about the corovirus.
Green spoke at an event organized by a white nationalist where people shouted “Putin!” After Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and other partisan attacks that critics say have led to racism and violence.
Greene remained in the Primary Voting in Georgia’s 14th Congressional District on Tuesday after a failed attempt to disqualify him by opposing voters. They claim Green joined the uprising on January 6, 2021, in the wake of an uprising that prevented Congress from recognizing Joe Biden’s victory in the presidency. The Georgia Secretary of State and the Administrative Law Judge did not comply with the request.
However, fellow Republicans refused to give Green free travel so he could be re -elected. Although his first term gained loyal followers, he left the rest in the GOP.
On the list of Republicans vying for Green’s resignation in the primary is Jennifer Strahan, founder of a health consulting firm outside of Atlanta who called voters “useless conservatives.”
“This is not the time for worthless politicians who just want to hear what they have to say,” Strahan said in one of the campaign announcements, without Greene’s name. In another, he explicitly said: “Our current US representative is not doing his job.”
Last year, Green was removed from the commission’s mandate from the House of Democrats, which accused him of spreading hate and violent conspiracy. In recent months, Green has been banned for spreading harmful misinformation on Twitter.
Greene was more than unrepentant. In a recent campaign post on his Facebook page, he called Biden and Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi “Democratic Communists” who “hate America, hate God and hate our way of life.”
