Cannabis. higher risk of lung cancer than cigarettes

Cannabis smoking is a major risk factor for lung cancer, especially among people under 50, pulmonologists who met last weekend at 27.e Congress of French Pneumology in Marseille. Several studies previously presented on this occasion reveal a phenomenon that has surprised experts.

“Overall, the number of lung cancers has been declining in recent decades due to the decline in smoking, but it remains stable among young adults, so we suspected that cannabis was a contributing factor.”explains Pauline Prader, a pulmonologist at Marie-Llanelong Hospital in Plessis-Robinson (Haute-de-Seine).
