‘God of War’ series will be faithful to the games, says Amazon Prime boss

‘God of War’ will join the group of games that will win an adaptation for the small screen, and the new production was already ordered by Prime Video a few weeks ago. In an interview with Collider, venom sandershead of Amazon Prime, said that the production will be faithful to the universe of games.

At the center of it all is this story of fathers and sons, and families, set against this giant epic landscape. So what Rafe [Judkins, showrunner] and writers Mark [Fergus] and hawk [Ostby] created? For the first season, I think, it’s incredibly faithful to the source material and also compelling on its own. If you’ve never played the game, you’ll fall in love with the show and feel very much invited inside. So we think it’s going to be huge.”

Sanders says that there is a large fan base for ‘God of War’, and that his team is looking for a way to bring that narrative as faithful and special as possible.

We know that there is a fan base that is very passionate about God of War. But we’re always looking to see if there’s a real emotional core, if there’s a true narrative, and I think that’s part of what makes God of War so special.”

At the moment, there is no information about the names that will join the cast, as well as the number of episodes in the first season. However, what we know so far is that Hawk Ostby and Mark Fergus (Iron Man) are confirmed as producers, and Rafe Judkins (Uncharted: Off the Map) as showrunner.

The plot of the series accompanies the journey of Kratos, God of War, alongside his son, to fulfill his wife’s last wish, which is to have her ashes scattered at the highest point. When it comes to an adventure, nothing will be so easy and everything will become more epic.

Production has been in the works since the beginning of the year and will be a partnership between Amazon Studios, Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions. Without many details of the cast body, fans can stay with ‘God of War Ragnarok’, the most recent edition of the game released in November of this year.
