5 K-pop idols who are about to leave the military

In October of this year, BigHit Music and HYBE announced that the BTS members will complete their mandatory military service in South Korea. These enlistments can last from 18 to 21 months, and doing so means honoring and defending the country, according to South Koreans.

It is worth remembering that the government even allowed the BTS boys to extend their enlistment until the age of 30 due to the “BTS Law”. This year, the decision on the group’s military service even relied on a survey of the population, to decide on the big question, taking into account its enormous influence on the world’s k-pop scene.

However, there are other idols who are already finishing their request with the South Korean military. Recreio separated some artists who will soon be back on stage. Check out!

1. Taemin — SHINee

SHINee member, Taemin enlisted on May 31, 2021, and will be released on November 30 of this year.


2. Baekhyun — EXO

Baekhyun is one of the members of EXO, and enlisted on May 6, 2021. He will be released on February 6, 2023.


3. Shownu — MONSTA X

On July 22, 2021, the Shownuleader of MONSTA X, has enlisted in the South Korean military, and will only be released on April 21, 2023.


4. Dowoon — DAY6

DAY6 member, Dowoonenlisted on January 17, 2022, and will remain in the military until July 16, 2023.


5. Young K – DAY6

Young Kfrom DAY6, will only be released on April 11, 2023, as he enlisted on October 12, 2021
