“At least it’s growing again.” Ashley Graham takes to Instagram to reveal her postpartum hair loss

Almost a year after giving birth to twins, the American model shares photos of hair problems on social networks.

When it comes to her postpartum physical transformation, Ashley Graham has no taboos. The model does not shy away from showing off her bare body, curves and stretch marks on social networks throughout her pregnancy. She also documented her new figure and belly after giving birth. This time, the mother of three children raises another sensitive topic: hair loss.

The 30-year-old posted photos of herself on Instagram showing the current state of her hair. On this series selfiesshe looks tousled, with short asymmetrical locks parted all over and her ‘baby hairdotted around the face, almost creating mini fringes. “At least #postpartumhairloss is on the rise,” she captioned this slideshow, posted on Wednesday, Nov. 30.

“No one ever tells you those things”

Natural shots with which some people in his community have identified. “I have the same problem”, “I understand how you feel”, “I know myself so well”, respond to him in the comments from sympathetic subscribers. Others thank him for these true assurances; “Oh my god, I thought I was the only one who looked like that. I feel so much better now, thank you for being so transparent about your postpartum journey,” wrote one young mother. “Please continue to normalize the horrible things that happen to us mothers when we literally give our lives to welcome our children into the world. No one ever tells you that and it’s scary when it happens,” pleads another.

An ardent supporter of the “body positive” movement, the mission of “normalizing all bodies at all stages of life” and the resulting physiological upheavals is not amiss. In fact, half of women experience excessive hair loss a few months after giving birth(1).
