This Tuesday, the 29th, the first day of the MAMA Awards 2022 took place, one of the main awards in the k-pop industry. Held at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan, the event handed out the first prizes of this year’s edition, and gained prominence with unforgettable performances by great artists.
Among the stars in attendance tonight were Somi, KARA, JO1, Stray Kids, FORESTELLA, TXT, Leejung Lee, LE SSERAFIM, BIBI, IVE, Street Man Fighter contestants NewJeans, DKZ, NMIXX, Hyolyn, Kep1er and Kang Daniel .
One of the great highlights of the night was the great collaboration between fourth generation girl groups, with the participation of the members of IVE, NewJeans, NMIXX, Kep1er and LE SSERAFIM where, in addition to coming together to perform their greatest hits, they also paid a beautiful tribute to one of the top third-generation girl groups, TWICE.
Another big moment on the first day of the 2022 MAMA Awards was the reunion of KARA, the iconic second generation girl group that is celebrating their 15th debut anniversary this year. In addition to performing the first performance of their 15th anniversary commemorative comeback “When I Move”, the members also performed a super nostalgic medley with some of their biggest hits, the tracks “Lupin”, “STEP” and “Mister.
