The series is the newest story about the Addams Family and features several easter eggs and references to the classic story of Charles Addams and the old productions about the morbid family. Check out some that stood out!
1. Christina Ricci
For many years, Christina Ricci was marked for giving life to Wandinha. The actress played the character in the first live-action Addams Family film and also in its sequel. She ended up being responsible for establishing Wandinha’s goth girl image.
After 19 years, Ricci returns to the Addams universe, but does not return to the role of Wandinha. This time she is Marilyn Thornhill, a teacher at Nevermore School. The presence of the actress brings a clear reference to the films released in 1991 and 1993, bringing nostalgia to the series.
2. Scooby Doo

During the 4th episode of “Wandinha”, the town sheriff makes a reference to Scooby Doo. In fact, it hints at the 1972 crossover between the Scooby Doo gang and the Addams Family.
Sheriff Donovan Galpin (Jamie McShane), says to Wandinha:
Listen Velma… why don’t you and the Scooby Gang stick with your homework and leave the investigation to the professionals?”
In the original crossover, we followed Scooby Doo and his friends trying to find Wandinha, who disappeared while Morticia and Gomez went on a second honeymoon.
3. Pet spider
In the 6th episode of the Netflix series, we follow a flashback of Wandinha. In this case, we see her breaking a piñata full of spiders on one of her birthdays in the past. While the spiders scare the other children at the party, Wandinha calmly collects the insects.
This moment is a reference to the first live-action production of the Addams Family, which was a TV series released in 1964. In the series, Wandinha had a spider as a pet and his name was Homer.
4. Cousin Ignatius Itt
SPOILER ALERT!
At a crucial moment in history, we can notice a large easter egg. There is a painting in the basement of the Shadow of the Night secret society where Cousin Ignatius Itt is depicted. Later, the characters discover that behind the painting there is a safe, which contains a document that serves as a clue to the case that Wandinha is solving.
Cousin Ignatius Itt is an original character from the comic strips of Charles Addams🇧🇷 He has no human appearance, as he has hair all over his body. His trademark is the bowler hat and round sunglasses, in addition to saying incomprehensible things.
5. Wandinha’s Bedroom

Some members of the Addams Family, like Uncle Fester, appear in “Wandinha”. However, there are others that are only mentioned. An example of this is that Morticia’s sister, Ophelia Frump, who appears in the 1964 series, ends up not being mentioned directly by any character. The reference to her is the fact that Wandinha’s room has her name.
