What’s in a name? Rainn Wilson will need a minute to explain.
To raise environmental awareness, the former “Office” changes its name to Rainnfall Heat Wave Rising Sea Levels (“And we have to do something about it now!”) Wilson.
The actor, who serves on the board of directors of Arctic Basecamp, a non-profit organization that aims to raise awareness of the risk of arc melting, made the announcement in a video posted on Twitter (and @Rainnwilson) on Wednesday amid the UN. COP27 climate change conference in Egypt.
Wilson visited the “Arctic Risk Name Generator” website, which encourages visitors to become “a name changer for the Arctic.”
He also insisted the name change was “not a joke”, explaining: “I am as serious as the melting of the Arctic, which amplifies global risks, including extreme weather events around the world.”
