‘Bad Girl Pranks’: First footage from TV series inspired by Vargas Llosa’s novel released

Series preview ‘bad girl pranks’, inspired by the novel of the same name by Nobel laureate Mario Vargas Llosa, was released Tuesday on the occasion of the annual International Market for Communication Programs (MIPCOM) fair.

TelevisaUnivision has published via YouTube a few first samples of what his series will bring.bad girl pranks’, which will be available before the end of the year through the new ViX+ subscription streaming service, as detailed in the announcement.

Filmed in the cities of Paris, London and Mexico City, the series is written by Spaniard Maria López Castaño (“Valeria” and “Guardian of Diablo”) and tells the story of a young nonconformist Arlette and Ricardo Somocurcio, a man stuck in your routine.

The series recreates the lives of these two characters who meet over several decades in cities such as Lima, Paris, Madrid, Tokyo and London.

A love story invented by Mario Vargas Llosa

The series is based onbad girl pranks’ (2006), a novel by a Peruvian Vargas Llosa which, in the author’s own words, is “a study of love divorced from all the romantic mythology that always accompanies it.”

The book follows the life of Ricardo Somocurcho, a wealthy man from Lima from the Miraflores district, who falls in love with a young woman, Lily “La Chilenita”.

Although a young woman disappears from Ricardo’s life during the scene in Lima, their lives intersect again in Paris, where he takes a job as a translator at UNESCO, in a new episode in which the so-called “bad girl” breaks again, the protagonist’s heart before disappear again.

Cuban-Uruguayan Alexander Bazzanoat the forefront of works such as Paper House, Ines del alma mia, You Can’t Hide, Paco’s People, Plastic Sea and American Night, is responsible for the direction of this series in collaboration with Pavel Vasquez (“The Rich Also Cry”, “Dragon”, “Devil’s Woman”).

The cast of “Bad Girls”

The line-up includes artists such as Macarena Achaga (“The Wrath of God”, “Father of the Bride”, “Luis Miguel, Series”) and John Paul DePace (The Mattachin Family, Fuller House, The Bible Goes On, Dallas, Mamma Mia) previously announced.

They are joined by Fernando Soto (Paper House), Fernando Cayo (Paper House), Martin Kuiper (Paco’s People), Rovi Prieto (Ay Zombie), Vanessa Saba (“She and Him”, “Locos de amor”), Victor Chiveira (“Beauty and the Beast”) and Nestor Rodulfo (“Che: Part One”, “Narcos of Mexico”), Steph Bumelcrown (“What People Say”, ” fall in love with Ramon) and Javier Dulzaides (“There’s a room in the background”).

The team for the series was completed with the participation of the Spanish cinematographer David Ascano (“La casa de papel”, “Sky Rojo”, “Bose” and “Isabel”).
