A total of 148 names were listed. Only 8% of respondents struggled to name even one such person.
Sociologists have found out who Ukrainians consider their country’s most famous personality of all time. In an open-ended Sociological Group Rating survey, respondents named the names of famous personalities.
Taras Shevchenko (63.9%) became the leader of the People’s TOP rating. The top five prominent Ukrainians include Vladimir Zelensky (29.8%), Lesya Ukrainka (19.6%), Bogdan Khmelnytsky (17.3%) and Stepan Bandera (12.8%).
Mikhail Grushevsky (11.6%), Ivan Franko (10.1%), Ivan Mazepa (8.8%), Vyacheslav Chornovil (8.7%) and Valery Zaluzhny (7.7%) are in the top ten of People’s TOP.
The second ten are Grigory Skovoroda (6.7%), Vasily Stus (3.4%), Volodymyr the Great (2.6%), Yaroslav the Wise (2.5%), Leonid Kravchuk (2.5%), Ivan Sirko (2.4%), Vitali Klitschko (2.2%), Oleksandr Usyk (2.2%), Andriy Shevchenko (1.8%) and Piotr Sahaydachny (1.8%).
Third – Roman Shukhevych (1.7%), Leonid Kuchma (1.5%), Taras Bulba (1.5%), Ivan Kotlyarevsky (1.4%), Lina Kostenko (1.3%), Igor Sikorsky (1.2%), Petro Poroshenko (1.2%) , Mikhail Kotsyubinsky (1.1%), Mykola Amosov (0.9%) and Pavel Skoropadsky (0.9%).
