A roundup of watches from the recently launched watchmaking industry, which is now officially in full swing.
Louis Vuitton
A new team and ambassador… To celebrate 20 years of success, boot house star Tambour is building momentum and planning for what’s to come. A short time in watchmaking history and a long time for this timepiece, which has undergone many technical and stylistic evolutions until winning two highly coveted GPHG awards (nicknamed the Oscars of watchmaking). The opportunity for Jean Arnaud, director of marketing and development of Louis Vuitton watchmaking, to return the Tambour to its historical context, with the Twenty version, is closer to the original model and outlines a bridge to the future. In particular, with the first campaign, which is more mature and rooted in the codes of classic watchmaking, played by actor Bradley Cooper.
Bulgari
Since the peak of its 10-year success story, Bulgari’s Octo line (as often with beautifully shaped watches) has managed to instill gender confusion that many women can adopt as well. A finding that’s likely to be highlighted with this new all-rose gold duo with a sunny cocoa dial (not to mention another yellow gold version) unveiled at the Geneva Watch Days show. However, we’ll have to wait until next May to discover this second skin treasure after the US.
Are you sleeping?
The twist is subtle but significant. Launched at Baselworld in 2012, Tudor’s alluring diver ditches the 42mm tall spheres that were traditionally set to come and winds up at 39mm, which is well in line with the times. Calibrated size to fit all wrists, reduced date, more readability and above all, the warmth of the sunny black dial that gives this underwater watch an urban charm.
H. Moser & Cie
A very fashionable house among watch collectors seeking independent watchmakers, H. Moser & Cie manages to surprise by not straying from its signature line of purity. There is no logo on the horizon here, and while the dial is adorned with a series of graphic indexes, this is traditionally not the case with other models in the Vantablack series. With a seductive enameled bezel, this watch launched at Geneva Watch Days is more than a simple contrasting design, as the red gold case takes on a different dimension compared to the Vantablack. Space Black, designed in 2012 based on carbon nanotubes that absorb more than 99% of light, was introduced to great fanfare at Moser 2018.
Breguet
If at first glance this timepiece that has just arrived in the store seems to follow the tradition of Breguet watches, it is clear that it heralds a new wind. The new CEO is Lionel A. Marca, under the influence of President Mark A. Alongside the Hayek, many details have been skillfully twisted to illuminate the dial of this Classique 7337. with the gray often used by the Swiss manufacture, but above all with this double blue counter that creates a perfect balance.
