Ukraine’s Minister of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandr Tkachenko said that people’s artists who are silent about the war or support the aggressor country of the Russian Federation will be stripped of the honorary title. He wrote about it on Telegram.
“I want to emphasize and warn that all artists who still “proudly” use the title People’s Artists of Ukraine when it suits them, but have not been so for a long time due to silence or support for with the invasion of Russia, will soon be deprived of these titles. We are working on amendments to the law so that our country will no longer see such “people”, the official said.
