Adapted from the dystopian novel by Margaret Atwood, the series The Handmaid’s Tale returns for a fifth season on Hulu in the US from September 14 (and in the days to follow on OCS in France). The series, which won Emmys and Golden Globes in its first seasons, continues to rock just over a year after Season 4 aired.

June, Luke, and Moira battle Gilead from afar as they continue their mission to rescue and find Hannah,” states the official synopsis released by Hulu.
Persistent conflict
This new season marks the beginning of a confrontation between June and Serena after several years of tension. “Their conflict has been central to the show from the beginning, and it’s only been derailed by Fred Waterford and how he almost interfered with their fight,” said series director Bruce Miller. Vanity Fair . “Now that Fred is out of danger, June realizes that what she did was good for her, but she may not have been able to get rid of the most dangerous one.”
The trailer also promises a continued exploration of life inside and outside of Gilead as June’s rebellion blurs the lines between these two worlds. The director of the series hints at the upcoming “incredible power dance”. “This is the future of Gilead.” But above all, the central conflicts of the season are directly related to June.
